World Tunnel Congress 2024
Conference theme video produced for ITA-AITES.
THE CHALLENGE
A global subject. Five minutes to make the case.
The conference theme covered an enormous question: how underground infrastructure can improve life in cities around the world.
Footage came from ITA-AITES and licensed sources, each with different styles and contexts. Every image had to support the script accurately while contributing to one cohesive five-minute video.
The goal was not simply to show impressive infrastructure—it was to explain why building underground matters to life above it.
FINDING THE STORY
Start with the city, not the tunnel.
Walcon Media organized the story around the pressures facing modern cities rather than around machinery or tunnelling methods.
The script connected engineering with recognizable human outcomes: mobility, resilience, smarter use of limited space and more livable communities.
The engineering provided the solution. The story focused on why that solution matters to people.
